FUND RAISING PROJECTS

Fund raising events, in days of yore:

- Several years of the Home Decor & Collectibles Sale

- Several years of the Vacation Silent Auction

During COVID, physical fund raising events were put to sleep

Dinner Gala & Auction

The social event of the season.  A deluxe dinner, a beautiful venue, a worthwhile cause, and a "dare to dream" auction.

Auction items include vacation rentals in exotic destinations, lodge getaways, dining vouchers, spa certificates, exciting adventures, ferry passes, and alot of surprises.

Book Sale

The book sale fundraiser is a summer event held the last weekend of July. Each year, a dedicated group of volunteers start the planning, and collecting the donations, in April. Many community members save and donate their books. Once the  books are collected, volunteers carefully sort and organize them, making  it easier for patrons to find what they need. All proceeds go to the Hornby Island Community Fund,  to be added to the Fund's interest which is paid out annually in grants to local organizations.

Women's Wednesdays

Networking for Women.  Bringing people together.

Every summer Wednesday, from 4 to 6 p.m., a community member opens their home/garden/deck to other Island women to drop in for a friendly BYOB networking event.  Coordinator Brenda Cha is the contact for you to get on the email invite list, or to offer your home as a meeting venue.  Join us Summer Wednesdays for an enjoyable few hours to meet 'n' greet other Island Woman.
